I finally learned how to use the laundry tub correctly and this completely changed the way I do laundry.

What are the three compartments really for?

Compartment 1 – Pre-Wash

This compartment is intended for pre-wash detergent. It is only used when the garments are very dirty, for example with mud, sand or stubborn stains. If you put the detergent here without selecting the pre-wash programme, the product is immediately discarded with the initial water, which is completely useless.

Compartment 2 – Main wash

It is the most important compartment. Here you have to put the main detergent, the one that actually cleans your clothes during the wash cycle. If you make a mistake and put the detergent in another compartment, the laundry will inevitably be unclean.

Compartment 3 – Fabric softener

This is dedicated exclusively to fabric softener. It is released only during the last phase of rinsing, to make the fabrics soft and fragrant. Putting fabric softener in the wrong compartment means losing its effect completely.

'Cause the laundry was never really clean

After discovering the correct use of the tub, I understood why for years my laundry did not give the desired results. Detergent was often released too early or at the wrong time, without the time needed to act on the fabric fibers.

In addition, incorrect use promotes the accumulation of detergent residues inside the washing machine, which over time can cause:

  • bad smells,

  • proliferation of bacteria,

  • Reduction of the life of the appliance.

How this discovery changed the way I did laundry

Once I learned how to use the tray correctly, the difference was immediate. The clothes were:

  • visibly cleaner,

  • softer,

  • with a fresher and longer-lasting scent.

In addition, I have noticed that I use less detergent, avoiding unnecessary waste. The washing machine also seems to work better, with no residue or bad smells.
