Adam put his phone on the nightstand for everyone to see. He never did that. The phone always remained with him, as if glued to his hand.

He grabbed the towel and walked into the bathroom without saying a word. I stood there, my hands shaking. Something was wrong. I told myself not to look; I had to trust him.
But at that moment, the name “Baby” appeared on the screen.
I read the message:
You'll be here tomorrow, right? You promised me.

“No, no, no…” mormorai piano.
Is it really possible? Did Adam betray me? Was everything I believed in just an illusion?
I quickly put the phone back on the nightstand and tried to calm my breathing. I didn't know what to do.
I took the gift and finished wrapping it quickly, banishing all thoughts of “baby” from my mind, at least for now.

When Adam came out of the bathroom, he didn't seem to notice my excitement. He kissed me on the cheek, but I barely responded.
“I'm a little tired tonight,” I muttered. “I think I'll go to sleep.”
Adam raised an eyebrow. “Are you okay? You seem a little off.”

“I'm just… I don't know. Maybe I just need some space to think.”
“Okay. I'm here if you need me.”

The next morning was our first wedding anniversary. Adam left early without a word. I decided to follow him to see what he was really up to.

So I immediately grabbed my keys and followed him out of the house. He didn't go to the office as usual.
Instead, he took a different route and stopped in front of a house I didn't recognize. He got out and quickly looked around, as if to make sure no one was watching.
I parked a few blocks away, never taking my eyes off him. He opened the trunk of his car and took out two bags of groceries.
