Preparation is simple and requires little equipment.

  1. Heat   1 liter of water   until very hot   but not boiling   (approximately   50–60 °C  ).
  2. Add   2 level tablespoons of fine salt   (about   30 g  ).
  3. Stir until completely dissolved.
  4. Then dip a clean cotton cloth   or   thick gauze into the salt water  .
  5. Squeeze it out thoroughly: the fabric should be   thoroughly damp, but not dripping wet  , and remain pleasant to the touch.
  6. Apply the compress to   a clean, dry area  while sitting comfortably or lying down in a relaxing position.
  7. Leave on for   10–20 minutes  , repeating the application if the compress cools down.

Many people appreciate this ritual in the evening as   a moment of relaxation   before bed.

When is it best to incorporate this relaxation ritual?
